Meet Babymetal
With an unlikely fusion of J-Pop and heavy metal, Tokyo’s Babymetal stepped onto the scene in 2010, turning heads with their fascinating style and sound. Initially formed as a sub-unit of the Japanese idol group Sakura Gakuin, Babymetal became an independent act three years later. The group released their self-titled debut album in early 2014, followed by the worldwide release of their second album Metal Resistance in the spring of 2016. The group initially formed as a trio including members Su-metal, Yuimetal, and Moametal. With the departure of Yuimetal in late 2018, Babymetal is now a duo.
